Dr. Jerry Nardone
Dr. Jerry Nardone graduated from McMaster University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980. He then achieved his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 1984, at which time he opened the doors to his first optometry clinic in Hamilton, Ontario. It is estimated that Dr. Nardone has performed over 250,000 eye examinations and currently has 80,000 active patients on file. He is vastly experienced in ocular health management, children’s examinations, LASIK surgery consultations and follow-up care, contact lens fittings, and occupational/sports vision services. Dr. Nardone provides eye examinations in English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
Dr. Gursharn Bering
Dr. Gursharn Bering was born in Abbotsford, British Columbia and grew up in Burlington, Ontario. She obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science degree at McMaster University, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences program in 2012. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating with distinction in 2016.
Dr. Bering is passionate about providing quality eye care to patients of all ages. Her past experience includes a clinical rotation at the Lexington Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Kentucky, where she gained valuable experience specializing in ocular disease and therapeutics. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bering enjoys spending time with family and travelling.
Dr. Doris Chow
Dr. Doris Chow obtained her Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing from McMaster University and then completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2016. She received the Helen K. Mussallem Award from McMaster University for her involvement in the Hamilton community and with the public health program with at-risk youth. Dr. Chow also worked as a Registered Nurse in Hamilton and Kitchener-Waterloo region. She participated in outreach programs as an R.N. providing neonatal and rural maternity care in Guatemala. She prides herself in being able to help and coordinate patient care and engage other members of the interdisciplinary health team in the patient circle of care. Dr. Chow completed an internship at Lexington Veterans Affairs Hospital and received extensive training managing ocular diseases and providing low vision examinations. Dr. Chow also completed internships in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, and at the University of Waterloo. Her interests include diagnosis and management of ocular disease and specialty contact lenses fitting including orthokeratology, scleral lenses and rigid gas permeable lenses. She is proud to be an affiliate of the TLC Laser Eye Center and is able to provide pre and post-operative services to laser surgery patients.
Dr. Chow is fluent in English and Cantonese. She feels privileged to be part of Dr. Nardone's team and looks forward to getting to know the community.
